Jaguar Showroom Exhibition
On June 20th , W Magazine and Cottelston Advisors created the Gorgeous Gallery in the New York showroom of Jaguar. For one night the showroom was transformed in to an art gallery with photography, sculpture, video and paintings by 12 emerging artists. The cars and art played off each other in a symbiotic fashion that excited art lovers of all levels. They wandered amongst Bryan Savitz's sculptural forest replete with Excalibur and marveled at Jason Hackonwerth's biomorphic balloon sculpture. Numerous objects were sold. Gary Flom, president & CEO of Manhattan Automobile Company, was so pleased with the event that he purchased a work by Jim Wright for the showroom, "Whiskey before Breakfast, Number 38". Jim creates his compositions like giant jigsaw puzzles out of shapes of acrylic paint. Other participating artists included: Simon Aldridge, Sandra Bermudez, R. Crumb, Kate Gilmore, Stephanie Lempert, Andrew and Elizabeth Neel, Danica Phelps and Tim Roda.
