For the 2nd year, KINZ, TILLOU + FEIGEN has invited colleagues and assigned them individual walls to, in turn, invite artists and select the works to be exhibited.

For the exhibition, I am presenting Marco Rountree. Based in Mexico City, Marco’s conceptual practice is multivariate, ranging from painting and drawings to installations and sculptures. In the Cutout Series, images of historical art works are subjected to his exacting scalpel, creating geometric voids. By purposefully excising the original image, we are offered a new interpretation of the familiar. Interspersed amongst the framed cutouts are images from post-war Japan, which are tagged in Spanish. Through the introduction of graffiti culture onto Japan’s pristine past, Marco is paying homage to Japan’s contributions to modern graphic design.
